FAQ's - What Will I Get From Coaching?
WHAT WILL I GET FROM COACHING?
HOW WILL I HELP YOU AS A COACH?
As your coach I will help you clarify your goals and identify the obstacles that are holding you back and come up with strategies to overcome each obstacle.
By engaging with me as your Coach during conversation you will discover new and unique possibilities for moving forward, building confidence and positive life action.
The focus is solely on you and your wants, desires, needs, dreams and sometimes your disappointments and failures.
WHAT IS COACHING?
Coaching is not counselling or therapy and it is important to be aware of the differences.
Coaching is not concerned with going over your past, although it acknowledges that past experience can influence current behaviour.
Coaching is not training, consulting or teaching.
Someone under training is being taught by an "expert" who knows more about the given subject than they do.
As your Coach I recognise that you are the expert on your life. As your coach I will provide coaching in a professional client relationship that is designed to facilitate the creation and development of personal, professional or business goals.
No-one knows more about your life than you.
Other ways that Coaching differs is that:
- the Coach has no fixed agenda - it is "client driven" at all times
- the end result of Coaching is positive action moving you forward.
Coaching is not someone telling you how to live your life.
Only you know how you should live your life.
You set the agenda and the pace. You are in control at all times.
Coaching is a profound tool that will reveal your potential because your
potential is what drives the process.
WHAT IS MY ROLE AS YOUR COACH?
I will be in your corner at all times, and I will believe in you.
Through keen observation, listening and having conversation I will as your coach help you reveal your inner potential and then support you as you build on this to create the life you want.
I will support you on your journey toward the life you want to live!
WHERE DO I START?
We begin with a phone call or email where we 'touch base' and answer any questions you may have.
It also gives you the opportunity to state what your expectations are and to outline what you would like to achieve from coaching.
If, following your initial contact, you feel you would like to know more, the next step is to run through a needs assessment.
This where we have an informal chat on the phone, where you tell me what would like to achieve.
We may also discuss what has brought you to coaching and gather some background information.
Following your Needs Assessment you will have more of an idea of what coaching is and how coaching works.
It also gives you the opportunity to speak to me and see if you feel comfortable working with me.
If you would like to proceed with coaching, we can book a session.
Length Of The Sessions
Your coaching sessions will last approximately one hour. These can take place either by zoom for convenience or at my home office in Birkenhead, Auckland.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A COACHING SESSION?
You will have come to coaching because there is a change you want to make - this forms the coaching agenda.
As your Coach I am uniquely qualified to help you move forward from where you are now to where you would like to be, quickly, easily with lots of laughs, and, at your pace.
WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN A COACHING SESSION?
At the end of each session we agree on 'Home play,' similar to homework but fun! This home play is something you agree with and would like to work on before we next meet.
Coaching has the potential to move you forward in your life quickly - because you learn by doing and applying the knowledge.
You also have someone to unconditionally support and encourage you as you move forward!
WHAT IS THE COST OF THE COACHING?
The cost and number of sessions depend on several factors.
It depends on the type of coaching (eg. Zoom or in person), the scope, what you would like the coaching to cover, the expected number of sessions.
So if you like what you see here, the next best step would be to arrange a free intro' phone call where I can hear what you would like from the process to help you decide if coaching is right for you.
WHAT ARE MY COACHING QUALIFICATIONS?
I have completed the requisite course of study and have met the requirements in the life coaching recognised by the New Zealand Life Coaching. I am also recognised at an Associate Coaching Level with ANZCAL (Australia & New Zealand Coaching Alliance)
